Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

For the past week I've managed to get by without running the heat pump at all - using only surplus solar to provide hot water and run a couple of panel heaters during the day. This morning is a struggle though as it's just 3C out and I'm feeling the cold at the moment! Must resist...Just a couple of hours more and I'll hopefully be able to divert some power to warm the living room!
My energy usage from the grid has dropped from 25-30 kWh per day to just 7 or 8 kWh per day. Considering I run a weatherstation / webserver and have several tropical fish tanks I am particularly pleased with those numbers. Less than previous years anyway0 -
10am and I've got the air conditioner on (on heat \dehumidifier) a 1kw space heater and I've just vacuumed the while house for free... What a beautiful morning.... I looooove spring time.. Even if I do have to go out later and sweep up ask the cherry blossom petals falling on the garden...4 Kwp System, South Facing, 35 Degree Pitch, 16 x 250W Solarworld Panels, SMA Sunnyboy 3600 Inverter, Installed 02/09/14 in Sunny South Bedford - £5600

Hi All,
Help out a numpty here in Devon ....
Just found this thread and I'm confused about this measure of generation '0s ' ?
Am I missing something here - I understand the kWh but not this.
Cheers .....Nobby.SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.0 -

Have a look at OscarGrouch's signature (he posted last night in this thread).
Basically, days generation in kWh divided by the peak output of your system (mine is 3.92 kWh).
So a day with 20kWh produced would be 20/3.92 = 5.1 O's which also causes much excitement as a "5 O" day is a Hawaii day - I'm sure you can see the connection?
You don't HAVE to be mad to post here, but it helps...0 -

O's is your kwh figure divided by the size of your system i.e
20kwh/4kw system = 5 O's or an Hawaii !3.64KW system, aurora power one inverter, South west facing with no shading in Lancashire.0 -
Cheers guys,
I did try looking back through the thread to find out ...... I even tried google !
So the point is that it's a way of comparing generation that levels out the difference between people's system sizes ?
The Hawaii 50 ( book em Danno ) I get now .
If in doubt ask I always say.

So, this was happening this morning in my hallway...
Seems the hot water storage tank has decided it no longer wants to store water
Had to drain the tank (of hot water!) down as I poked where the drip was coming out and the drip turned to a gush! Looks like the tank is scrap due to corrosion:(:(

Should have said -
Yesterday Hawaii 6.22 0s ( 24.88kwh / 4 ) ??
Is that right ...
Cloudier today though as only 4.83 kWh so far .
