One one bathroom/toilet, and it's ensuite

I've been looking at a 1 bedroom house, and it's only got one toilet, in a ensuite shower room. I don't like the idea of guests traipsing through my bedroom to go to the loo really. But otherwise the house is the sort of thing I was looking for. I can't decide if the location of the toilet is enough to put me off or not! Might it cause me problems if I was trying to sell in future?

Yes it is. I've been there.... and I found that every stray man that visited the house (e.g. insurance salesman, random odd-job man) anybody that had any reason to be inside the house ended with "can I just borrow your loo?" And it was a horrible feeling.0

I agree. You'll never feel comfortable entertaining etc if your guests let alone strangers have to traipse through your bedroom to use the facilities.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Have you thought about when you have friends to stay, all very well and good with a blow up mattress in the living room but they will be sneaking through your room to go for a wee in the night!0

When looking for a 1 bedroom place in 2002 I viewed a flat with the toilet through the bedroom. It did put me off what was a gorgeous and huge flat. I didn't buy it for that very reason.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000 :eek:

Rule no 1..dont buy a one bedroomed anything..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think about tradesmen etc, no it wouldn't be nice for strangers to have to walk through the bedroom.

Because the reselling potential will be limited to a narrower market. if you get a 2 bed, not only will layout normally be nicer but you have the option to take in a lodger if you need extra income0
