Nationwide Suck!!

Applied for nationwide basic account, Was told i could get cash card+ got my card and letters with customer numbers etc.

I then get told by customer services special investigations would like to speak to me, soon as i heard that i knew what was coming. According to them i failed security checks they said i have owe money to another company, I do have 2 defaults but i dont see how this is a reason not to give me there most basic account which i had. Its not like it had an overdraft or cheque book facilities or any other credit facilities

Very very annoyed with them.

Discuss this with the moneyadviceservice. There is supposed to be a "presumption of acceptance" except in the circumstances listed in the last column (+ voluntary arrangements).

This sounds as if you may have previously had the account you applied for, again? If so, why was that account closed - did you close it or did they?

If the OP's talking about a basic bank account, I thought that was something that the Labour government introduced as a basic right for all UK citizens?

This was my first time applying for a nationwide account. For some reason they have all accounts listed as Flex but different categories. I.e with cheque book, overdraft and card reader etc.

I am so annoyed about this. People from other countries can come to this country and get everything.

Or perhaps they manage their accounts better?

    why start name calling?

because somebody said that maybe someone else has a better credit file or manages accounts better, MAYBE, just maybe that is true. Calling people an idiot for stating something sounds awfully like you are just annoyed other people can have something you can't.

Deal with it, move on and find another bank that might accept you
