I want to do the bike ride from London to Paris in July to raise money for a Cancer charity with http://www.londonparisbikeride.co.uk/ however it says you have to raise a minimum of £1400, I am struggling to think how I am going to raise that kind of money!
Is there any tips anyone could give me on how to raise this kind of money? I really want to do it as I lost my Grandad to Cancer last October and I have wanted to do something like this since then!
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Maybe a page on facebook and twitter would help, it would let everyone know and increase the money you have to raise, good luck hope you do well0

Forgot to add to contact your local paper to do an article about you, it all helps0

The reason there is a minimum sponsorship is because much of your sponsors money goes not to the charities, but is spent on 3* hotels, Eurostar, meals for you, the travel agents fees and commission, etc. It is a free holiday, so in order for the charity to actually get a slice of the money you are raising in their name, they have minimum sponsorship rules.
If you really want to raise money for the charity, just raise the money and give it to them directly, they will see a lot more of it if your holiday isn't one of their costs!!0
