has my wifi usb dongle died??

i have been using a wifi usb dongle with my desktop for 15 months with no problems until this morning when i turned my computer on and there was no wifi signal and i could not connect to the internet. i restarted the computer but that did not help. i checked the wifi dongle and its normally flashing light was off. i inserted into 3 different usb ports but the light wouldnt come on. i tried it in my laptop to no avail. i bought it from ebuyer and i thought it definitly should work for longer than 15 months..any thoughts please.

the router is fine as i can connect my laptop wireleslly and this is how iam posting my messages here.0

When you plug it into other computers do they say "new device detected" etc? Is there a power light?0
