Do you mean keyword spamming?

That's when you add words or Brand Names to your title or auction listing that are not related to the sale in order to try and get your listing to show up in searches that aren't directly related to your item. Some people also try to hide a list of these words by making the text white on a white background.

I can't believe a massive power seller would stoop so low after a tiny bit of competition! :mad: especially when he is so blatantly touting for off-ebay sales. I will be getting a powerseller friend of ours to report him when I can get in touch with him. I will not be beaten by this bully!

Have you tried live help, not quite sure how it works but I am sure you can report things through live help, perhaps someone else know a bit more

Windswept, just report him yourself - he is never going to know at all - just like you do not know who reported you!!

Oops yes, I meant Kwyword Spamming. it's been a long day!! I mentioned that I sold other brands and that was enough to get my listings kicked off - the presona reporting me was doing 15-20 at a time so they obviosuly had nothing else better to do with their time. Scary. I even had a listing removed because I put 'please contact me if you can't find the item you are looking for listed' as this constitued touting for off eBay sales. I just don't get it, when people are going to report you they'll report you whatever and any old reason will do.

I have to admit that if I'd spent several hours ploughing through hundreds of listings, and I saw an auction with Prada Next Playstation Brad Pitt Burberry in the title, I'd get vengeful on that person's listings.

Aah! so that's why when you do a search sometimes there is a list of nonsensical items at the very top, with absolutely no connection with what you are searching for , I did wonder!

I have decided to tackle my nemesis head-on, I have set myself up a new ebay id and will be selling all his biggest sellers, I can undercut him on everything, he has total monopoly in that category and someone (namely me) needs to take him on!
I don't care if I don't sell much, I don't need to hold any stock , it's all available on direct despatch, how convenient that we share the same supplier!:rotfl:
can I link my new id to our paypal account? would people know that the two were linked?
I could set up my own pp a/c but it would complicate our business accounts, as our account is linked to the business bank account.

I have 2 emails linked to my paypal, for 2 different ebay accounts.

May want to use an email from a different server, so no reason to link either email.

Had a look at this seller, and on first page of his ebay shop, it has his phone number asking people to call, if that isnt trying to sell outside of ebay, then what is. Plus i thought you were not allowed to link to outside shop, which he clearly has done.

Good that you taking him on, just be careful really.
