Eden Project from Torquay

I will be on holiday in Torquay but will not have my car.

I want to visit the Eden Project from there but looking online as to how to get there by public transport for a day trip it is practically impossible, I would spend most of my day travelling or have to leave at a stupid time in the morning and take 2 buses or trains.

There must be a way to leave Torquay about 8 or so in the morning and return in time for dinner and still spend a reasonable time at the Eden Project without spending about £100 on travelling and leaving at 4 in the morning.

I live in Scotland so I am not eligible for free over 65 transport in England.

I always use Transport Direct for this type of queries.

It shows that by catching a bus from Torquay at 07:58am in the morning, you can be at the Eden Project by 11am.

No idea what you mean by 'dinner time', but if you were to catch a bus from EP at 16:28 you could be back in Torquay by 7:30pm.

Whether five and a half hours at EP is enough, I don't know.
