That says more about the gullibility of the public than about the product.
How many people can honestly say that their machine has needed repairing as a result of not using Calgon.I can afford anything that I want.

Sorry - I may have not been clear. The softener I had fitted was a salt one, not an electromagnetic one. I figured if I was going to have one fitted, I had better go for a solution which I knew actually worked as I had one in my last house.0 -

No wasn't you - some one else posted (possibly spam I guess) as it has now gone! Salt ones certainly work although not cheap.

You have my sympathies. As you know, it is a thankless task and even if you spend ages and loads of vinegar, it never ends up smear free.
When you say your inlet pipe is too short, I assume you mean the distance from your meter (?) to the first T joint is too short to divert the supply to a softener first.0 -
A few years ago our kettle stopped working. The lady in the shop told my wife it was caused by the hard water.

t ! I thought and brought up a map of the Uk, we do not have hardwater here. I brought a printout and the shop decided there was a fault.

I would therefore suggest if you are in a hard-water area, this product may be useful, but elsewhere, probably not.0 -
half a bottle of white vinegar run thru on 90 degree wash will sort most problems out0
