Thanks though for the continued replies (it's not even my thread!)
Yes we have rather forgotten Wu Bu in all this!
I suggest trying CAB if CCCS say you haven't got enough to do a DMP through them. I used them when OH was made redundant and found them very good, although this was some time ago now.
Rochdale guy, even though you have started your DMP you can get back to CCCS and say you forgot to include some expenditure (just make it up) to give you a bit more cash in your pocket. I know someone on the forum told them that they had taken up smoking just to have a bit more to spend, and it was accepted. However this may take you below the amount that is acceptable to pay as it did in Wu Bu's case. You could look at alternatives to CCCS
OH tried to make baked beans. I wouldn't recommend it :rotfl:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

The OR, official receiver, might be interested in your car, but that is very unlikely. If he was, he has to work out what it would fetch after all costs, if the answer is very little or nothing at all, almost certainly true in this case, then you can offer him, say, £200 to buy his interest back.
How do you get the BR fee (£700) together? Save it up by not paying your DMP. 5 and a half months and you will be debt free. Your creditors are powerless, the worst a creditor can do to a debtor is make him or her bankrupt. As that costs them £2,000 then they won't be doing it, so your choice is do it yourself or keep paying them for 18 years. They could take you to court for a CCJ, but whilst possible would ultimately be pointless as well.
If you don't want BR then plump for an IVA. Ask the CCCS to do one for you if you want. I wouldn't, I would go elsewhere, but 5 years has to be better than what you face now.0 -
Having been on a dmp with the cccs for 3 years now(£167pm) im wondering if i would be better off with an iva, is it possible to change from a dmp to an iva considering after 5 years of payments the debt is gone?
Will a iva look worse on your credit history than a dmp, even though the dmp is for longer?
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
How far have you got on the DMP? Have you managed to pay a considerable sum off to your creditors?
What ratio is the £167 a month payment to your debt total?
I'm now wondering the same after only having been on my DMP with CCCS for just 20 days.... into a 17 year sentence.0 -
I have been on DMP for 2 years. Its good for me. Am paying £150.00 a month, interest has been frozen, Before the plan I was paying approx £450 a month,I would not have been able to reduce the balance on the credit cards if I lived till 90 due the interest being added every month. I am actually better off on DMP, and though I have another 8 years to go at least it will be paid eventually. National Debt line sorted this out, they referred me to Pay Plan, if need be exagerate your outgoings so you have just enough to meet the amount requested. Its great not having to worry about phone calls and letters from companies threatening to send the bailiffs round. I may still be in debt, but I have piece of mind and I dont even miss the credit cards!0
