Paymentcare for Santander mortgage

Hi,
Back in 2000 we took out a mortgage with the Abbey National and was told it was imperative that we took out their Paymentcare policy (for accident and sickness cover) as I was self-employed. At the time I worked less than 16 hours a week and on reflection my husbands wages would have covered my contribution towards the mortgage quite easily if I was unable to work.
12 years down the line, I am still paying £18.00 a month for the policy (I have never claimed) and to be honest only when I started looking into my bank statements did I realise I was still paying for it!
I know Martin Lewis would curse me for not knowing what was coming out of my bank account but would I have a case for being mis sold PPI particularly regarding the minimal hours I was working. The policy booklet does say that the self employed must work for more than 16 hours to be covered.
Any advice would be greatly received.
Many thanks:)
