Panasonic NNCT559 combination microwave

Hi all

Have just purchased this microwave but am very disappointed how noisy it is.

Its fine in microwave mode but when using the convection oven it is sooo noisy - sounds like a generator chugging away. This noise is not the fan. I hear this coming on and off as well.

I am inclined to send it back but am worried that maybe this is normal for this model, though I must say I find it unacceptable.

Anyone got this model and finding the same problem? Don't want to send it back for a replacement to find the next one is just the same.

My previous Panasonic was fine.

We've got the white model of this combination oven thingy. Ours makes a dreadful racket and has done since day one ... this is on either combination or on the convection setting. But on microwave only setting it's fine.

The noise is annoying, tbh. But the Morphy Richards model we had before this one was no better either.

We've just learned to live with the noise.

Although we've bought a Remoska table top oven from Lakeland now, it cooks far better than the Panasonic, it's completely silent and is saving us a bomb on electricity.

The Remoska is the way to go, wish we'd discovered it years ago ... although that's of no help to you right now, my friend :-(

Thanks for your response. Is it a sort of chugging / rumbling noise? It seems to only come on when the oven gets quite hot and comes and goes as the power turns on and off regulating the temperature. The fan is a separate noise which is as expected.

My previous combi oven was also a Panasonic and it has been great, hence getting another.
