Final electricity bil - BG
Options
My mom has recently switched from BG to Equipower for her electricity and BG have just produced her closing bill.
She joined BG during December '05 and signed up for "Discounted electricity with one months free" which was to be creditted against her bill after 12 months service. Before she signed up with Equipower we checked to see that BG had creditted the £14.50 to her account which should have accounted for the free months supply, BG confirmed the credit was on her account.
I have just printed her final bill and there are two adjustments showing:
20/12/06 6SAL-1PRC-CR Cust: pricing only dispute, credit £26.00
05/02/07 CPO, charge £20.00
This CPO charge reduces the adjustment to £6.00.
Does anyone know what CPO means? To the best of my knowledge there were no fees for leaving this tariff and she had been with them for over twelve months. I also don't understand what the pricing dispute is, we only ever asked if the £14.50 had been applied to her account.
Do I have to call them and speak to yet another BG agent who hasn't got a clue?
Any advice much appreciated.

good morning
can't comment on this specifically but i may be able to help with a number to hopefully avoid speaking to all the numptys that you usually have to deal with...
0845 607 0870 is their customer liason/relation dept. This is not customer service, basically this dept deals with major complaints etc once customers complain to the energy ombudsma. i now call them for everything as they seem to know what they are doing, and these guys have always sorted out my problems instantly.
only problem is that i'm not sure if they are ope at weekends. worth trying though.
i hope this helps.Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

which I had known that phone no 7 months ago instead of having to speak to all the unhelpful people (except 1) that can't seem to understand or get anything done.0

One months free electricity is a fixed amount, so you get te full £26 even if you've used less per month.
Regional discounted electricity basically means you get a discount off so many % of BG's standard rate depending on which area you live in. There is a canclelation fee of £20 on that offer. So you are left with a net credit of £6.0 -

Thanks for that! I do remember them saying the credit was based on average usage so that does make sense. £20 cancellation fee is a bit much after 14 months but if that was part of the T's & C's then so be it!
Thanks again!0
