PPI on life insurance

I took out life insurance in 2004 and have payment protection added onto this which I was unaware of until now. The insurance was taken out with Zurich by a Zurich broker. Can I make a PPI claim?

You cant get PPI on life assurance. PPI is a short term insurance offered by general insurance companies. Life assurance is long term insurance offered by life assurance companies. The only bolt ons to life assurance are waiver of contribution (sometimes incorrectly mistaken as PPI but not the same thing) and critical illness cover (have seen some people refer to it as PPI but its not).which I was unaware of until now.
Not possible. Assuming it is one of the possible bolt ons to life assurance, both appear on the personal illustration given to you at point of sale, the one sent in the post after it is set up with the cancellation rights and it appears in the summary report on the product taken out.
Also, allegations like yours are the weakest form of complaint. Especially when you consider the documentary evidence that will exist to show you were told about it. I would expect any complaint on your basis to be rejected for either not having PPI or nothing to support your allegation whilst the evidence says the opposite.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
