confusion over exceeding overdraft

Options
Back in December i accidentally exceeded my overdraft limit by £9.99 for a max of 24 hours. LLoydsTSB haven't charged me for this, i was expecting a letter saying we will charge you £30 in 14 days but they haven't sent one or taken the money. So, do LLoydsTSB allow a percentage amount over before they charge or should i still leave the £30 extra in the account just in case? I find this confusing as they have charged me in the past for being less than £9.99 over my overdraft:confused:

  • In most cases if it is your first excess within last 12 months you would not get charged the fee.

Charges incurred in December would have been debited on 1st Feb so check your statement.

Perhaps they know you use MSE and they're too scared of Martin Lewis to dare charge you!!!

lloyds unofficially give a limit of 10 quid where you could be overdrawn before any charges came into play,
this was a good few years ago i was told this so may still be the case (maybe not in all cases tho)

OH and I were only talking about this last night ( sad as we are!), we were going through old post etc, and had a leaflet from the end of last year from LLoyds which stated that they had changed their terms and they would now only charge you a max of 3 charges a day !! BUT... they would be withdrawing the £10 "buffer zone" which had previously been in place if you went overdrawn. They were withdrawing another beenfit too but I forget what it was! Anyway, looks like you might have managed to get in before it changed... but just remember for future that by the sounds of it in the future 1p overdrawn = £30 charge!

Thanks for all the replies. They definitely haven't charged me. I check my accounts daily on line and up date my accounting package daily on line too and nothing has been taken. I'll certainly make sure it doesn't happen again in light of what Ems! has posted. :)
