Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailyt hreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hugs to Jools & Molly
Belated Happy B'day to Bitsey
Fingers crossed BB.
Off to work soon, what joy, still at least it's busy.
I need to do my roots tonight, tea is chicken stirfry & the soups already made for Friday tea.
Hubby wants some lunches to microwave, so I shall make a batch of cottage pies for him.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning all <<hugs to Jools>> how dreadful and what a shock for you all
Sometimes life can be so cruel for no apparent reason at all.

Well its blooming cold here at the moment and very foggy but its supposed to burn off and be a sunny day I do hope so as it looks really murky at the moment .Today I am doing some baking and probably reaccess my freezer and re-do the list of stuff stuck on the outside of the door to see whats still available.I shall do my menu for the week as well.Eldest DD may appear for coffe as she usually does her banking for the school on a Thursday which is only over the road from my house.Apart from that and the school run not a lot planned.I have a long letter to write to an old friend who moved to Devon and I haven't seen for yonks.i found some photos of her and her family in the stash so I'll post then off to her with a newsy letter.
Hope everyone has a good day and if down and blue things do get better for you
    Take care all

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Good Morning All!
    Jools - thinking of you
Up early so washing done and will go out on the line shortly, DW on cleaning cycle and fair bit of ironing done. Bread also on the way. DH has a meeting in London today so I'll be walking the dogs later. Tuition today after school so need to get something in the slow cooker. Am hoping to get to the gym, and I have a number of other tasks lined up as well. Should be a busy day!
Sending good wishes to all feeling down for any reason. Hope you all have a good day. Take care.

  • Good morning all,
Jools, thinking of you and your family at this sad time.
Tru, happy birthday:bdaycake:, hope you enjoy your day.
Very foggy here, hate driving in it.
Take away tonight as it's husbands birthday. No cooking :).
Wm is on, ready to go on the airer before i leave for work. If the weather turns out nice, hubby will hang it out as he is off until Saturday.
Hope everyone has a nice day and hugs to those who need them.

    Good Morning All

Jools, so sorry to hear your sad news (((hugs)))

Many Happy Returns Tru :j:beer: Hope you have a lovely day.

Very very misty start here today, meant to be warm later but we will see. Today I don't have to rush anywhere so having a pottering at home day.

Gonna clean the bathrooms and hoover everywhere this morning, pop out to the launderette then iron this afternoon.

Got some nice stuff from Aldi yesterday, love their cooked meats and cheese, cat is also well stocked up for now :D

Leftover stew and soup for dinner again tonight. Very frugal.

Well, hope you all have a good day.x

    (((Jools)))

I am so sorry about your news and hope they find out the cause soon which will not lessen the shock or loss but would explain things and remove the intrusion.

It looks overcast and foggy here but hope it will lift. DH not happy our alarm did not go off as he likes to be first up and turn off alarm, set heating and have cup of tea listening to the news in peace. I went down to make a couple of filled rolls for dds and empty dishwasher and made a pot of tea.

    Happy Birthday to tru

    :bdaycake:

Yesterdays sweet potato and red pepper soup was very popular and will do potato and leek for tonight with a stir fry and noodles to use up some veg. Might make another crumble for pudding as everyone loves it ( except me);)

Search for a new alarm clock should use up an hour or two later and might combine it with trip to weekly market and library to make better use of time and energy. Waiting for door to slam and all three dds to have set off before making egg and toast for DH and me in peace and quiet.

    Hugs to all
