Yes that type of T CUT.I always have things like this in my garage anyway, its useful for removing minor scratches too.As said before it really depends how bad the surface is but try a small area first to see how it performs,There is also a T CUT made for metallc paints that is not as abrasive.
I have been using T CUT for about 25 years now,my husband used to be a paint sprayer so we have used all the trade stuff too,you can get some really good cutting compounds but they are often expensive for a one off job. There are two sides to every story.

I actually prefer Tesco's own brand T-Cut equivalent - "colour restorer" or whatever they call it - the bottle looks like T-Cut but it seems to be both less abrasive on the original lacquer and more effective against scratches, as well as being about £2 cheaper than T-Cut.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100
Debt free day: October 2008 :beer:0 -
wow all the advice to use t-cut:eek:
t-cut will remove the oxidised layer of paint restoreing the colour of the car, very few cars of that ages that are a solid colour used a clear coat.
the problem with tcut is is very abrasive and actually not as effective as other stuff available hence the claims of popeye arms it is a tough day claening a car with tcut.

littlejohn, If you read the other postings you will see that many things have been suggested to rectify this problem,of course you could research this subject forever,i was simply telling the op that good results can and have been achieved by using, among many things, T CUT and this is an old car not a year old Porsche.
For best results, use a pro.In your case simply cleaning your car and using a good quality polish, will keep it in pristine condition, there are many products out there that are great, others are just a rip off and you really dont need them,my nephew owns a valeting company and has tried them all. There are two sides to every story.

Surprisingly the cheapest place currently for T-cut is B and Q, with 500ml coming in at under £4. To anyone reading this thread wanting to make their car shine, I recommend you don't, lol, it's very tough work even with a mechanical buffer. Spent over 5 hours and only got less than half done0

hello,
save yourself a lot of grief and elbow grease and use this stuff.
Super Resin Polish by Autoglym, you will 'NOT' regret it. I sold a dull looking red Nova 1.4 SR and the buyer came back to pick up the car manual and I was spewing at how shining my old car was:mad:
It ain't cheap mine cost £14.99 5 years ago from Halfords but I still over half left. Cant recommend it enough:rotfl:0 -

defiantly T-cut it then use a coloured wax that matches your colour halfords stocks both : Tcut and Wax they have shine sprays to keep the shine, but the t cut will even the coating then the wax will shine and rejovanate the colour. if you dont have a halfords near you you could try your local car shop.0
