I went to look at a gym yesterday and wanted prices etc and before I knew it I was signed up and joined for a year. I have paid a joining fee and the the rest of this months money in cash and they have by bank details to take money out on the 1st of April. Im due to go Friday for my first session. As soon as I left I knew I made a mistake and now am regretting this decission. Is there anyway of getting out of this. I am happy to lose the joining fee (well not really) and the money Ive paid but to be honest Im not sure I can afford to go here as my job is unpredicatable at the moment. Please help if you can

what does yours say?0 -
I going to phone and see if they have a cooling off period. I signed the contract in the gym with 2 members standing on top of me so You are unable to read the small print terms and conditions,0

Mine had a cooling off period. I think you'll be fine and a reputable gym would accept you cancelling so soon after.MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

funny how they almost instantly reply to your first interests but as soon as you have a problem they dont bother to rush.0

Sounds to me like they were just good at sales... you should have put your foot down re thinking about it.
That said, I do hope they let you cancel.0 -

The thing is I actually said I didnt plan on signing up today a few times. Still not heard back. Feel sick now. I thought the older you get the wiser you got. Obviously not in my case.0 -
I signed up to mine but they had a 14 day cooling off period. This was a council gym though i think. Definitely check your T&Cs, you should have a period in which to cancel.0

OP, which gym? And do you have the terms and conditions pages to skim through? I've been to many gyms before and many have a 14 day cooling off period where you pay for what you have used ot the entire month (no partial refund) if you want to cancel early. The sooner you do it the more likely they are to let you cancel so you've done the right thing by sending an email but I would also follow up with a phone call the next day.0
