Canon Wireless PIXMA problem

So far I have only used this printer for correspondence
but I need to prevent the documents having "UNTITLED" at
the top and "Page no.1 etc...." at the bottom. Can anyone
tell me how to get rid of these?

I have read the manual but can' find anything about this problem

That's down to the program use to print from, such as Word, etc. You'll need to change the headers and footers.

    Yes you can.

When printing a webpage from Firefox,
click on Firefox (top left) > Print... > Page Setup... > Margins & Header/Footer

You can then choose exactly what you want in Headers and Footers, just like you can with most other programs.

A similar process can adjust Headers and Footers in Internet Explorer.

Thank you all. The note about clicking Firefox in the top left
hand box looks promising and I am just about to start another
    letter, BUT

I also forgot to tell you that when I print letters every other
line has just one word on it and it then carries on below it.

Hello, I am using Notepad as I do not have Word. It was included with this Sony laptop for six months only.

I seem to have got rid of the problem of every other line
having one word on it before it goes on to print the next line.

I am embarrassed about all this and wished I could have XP back.

It's not a printer issue, it's your software. Notepad is not suitable for anything but the most basic word processing. Why don't you use either OpenOffice or LibreOffice in lieu of Word? Both free to download, and do exactly the same job.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Hello Macman, I'm sure I had Wordpad but it seems to have
disappeared. The problems I am having now (I think) is that
my SIL took this laptop to work to ask one of the IT team to
fix another problem and the LT has come back with a few changes. AVG has been added; free version, and a few other
    things are different.
