UKCPS Parking Notice

I was recently parked legally in a Blue Badge parking space at a shopping centre with my badge displayed on the front windscreen but the badge had slipped down a little to the right of the main dashboard. As with so many of your other posts, I did not discover the notice slapped right over my tax disc, completely obliterating the disc, until the next day and after heavy rain, with the result it was a sticky mess very difficult to clean up. The person issuing the notice claims I was parked 'in a disabled bay with no badge displayed'. He also commented "AA Badge Expired" (in the place where he should have signed his name). I had a yellow sticker on my windscreen with AA emergency numbers on the interior! What right does this idiot think he has to comment on AA membership when in fact it was not even an AA membership badge! (and which has nothing to do with where I park!) To add final insult to injury, he got the parking location incorrect as well - I have NEVER visited the parking location he inscribed on the notice issued to me.
I wrote to UKCPS to refute their notice, and inform them that my Blue Badge was in full view on the right side of my windscreen if their attendant had taken the trouble to walk around the car, but as can be expected, have received their reply using strong arm tactics about proceeding with the fine BECAUSE THE LAW SAYS A BLUE BADGE MUST BE DISPLAYED
and I did not have my blue badge displayed on the front windscreen (according to their moron writing the ticket).
Since he could not even get the parking location correct, and I even have a purchase slip from the store I was visiting to prove where I was parked, I feel justified in not responding to their letter. However, I would appreciate advice as to whether I should write again, or just ignore? As I am a pensioner, their threats have had the usual effect of making me feel nervous about court action which I could not afford, but then neither am I prepared to pay a fine which is unjustified and untrue as my blue badge was after all, on the windscreen. As one of your bloggers has already said: They cant make any money out of the majority of visitors to the shopping centre as it is a FREE parking zone, so they obviously target vulnerable disabled badge holders. I WOULD APPRECIATE COMMENTS AND ADVICE PLEASE.

UKCPS are wrong in so many ways. The Blue Badge Scheme does not apply on private land, so the "law" has nothing to do with it, and it's not a fine. From now just ignore these idiots. They are just trying it on. As for commenting on your AA badge , that's just unbelievable.
This is a nasty little parking company that should be closed down.
One slight word of warning, the "office manager" from UKCPS monitors these forums trawling for information. So be very wary of any private messages you receive and be careful of what information you give out on here. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Hi there.
You can safely ignore this ticket. Blue badges have no legal status at all on private property, so they can't penalise you for not displaying one. Just sit back and laugh at all the hot air they come up with.0 -
You hit the nail on the head when you used the word "idiot" to describe their operative. They are having hard times, what with an increasing number of people realising that their tickets are just total rubbish and not paying; so they are resorting to issuing made- up tickets to disabled drivers as they think they are easier to bully and scam.
Do not communicate with them again- you have already found out it is impossible to win an argument with a fool- but save everything they send you as you should be able to sue them and the owner of the car park.
Hopefully the firm won't be in business much longer, so you may have to just sue the car park owner, though.0 -

You were not legally parked displaying your BB because the BB scheme does not apply in private car parks.
This is made absolutely clear in two sections of the supporting docs that came with your badge and on the websites of every issuing authority in the UK - GO AND CHECK NOW! It is the Equality Act that applies here and every disabled person is entitled to use those spaces or any other reasonable adjustment regardless of their having a blue badge or not.
This scam would be made a lot more difficult for the PPCs if disabled drivers actually took a moment to read and realise this and stopped assuming that these goons have any authority at all!
So from that, you can see quite clearly that UKCPS's reply is a load of utter rubbish and if you do anything, I hope you raise a serious complaint with the store concerned about how they are failing in their responsabilities to the Act.
Then just ignore UKCPS and their threatening toilet paper - The sticky at the top of the forum will let you see what to expect from them next.0 -
I wonder if Hasbeen and the other morons who work for UKCPS have any twinges of conscience at all over the despicable way they treat disabled drivers? The sooner this company is closed down the better. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Yep. And the sooner a disabled driver/passenger sues UKCPS or another PPC and retailer/landowner for Equality Act breaches, the better.
sandylox, ignore the PPC and do not reply to any private message you get on here about it. The UKCPS head tea-boy Peter Haswell reads these forums as he hates the fact we tell everyone to spread the word and IGNORE these fake PCNs.
On private land, such as any car park not run by a Council, the Blue Badge scheme does not even apply. They lied.:mad:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's a pity that the disabled charity "Mobilise/Disabled Motoring UK" is a lackey of the private parking "industry", otherwise I would suggest reporting this matter to them. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Further to the above, I have just been looking on the DMUK website and all mention of UKCPS has disappeared. There are adverts for two other PPCs (Parking Eye and QPark) but not for UKCPS. I wonder if the charity have finally seen the light and have dissociated themselves from this bunch of rogues.
Of course the UKCPS website still boasts of it's association with DMUK, but we all know how truthful that website is.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Yes, UKCPS, the proud protector of disabled parking spaces..... except that 95% of its victims in doing that are actually disabled drivers.
What an odious bunch of crooks.0
