A top card for use abroad. Is it?
I used ATM to draw cash in India with the hope that £5.00 fee I pay will get me charge free cash. But No, the ATM charged me about £2.70 per transaction. The response from Sainsbury was that foreign banks can charge as per their rules it is only that we ourselves apply no charge.
This can happen to both cash and purchases where foreign banks process the transactions.
In my opinion when banks say 'NO CHARGES' it means no charges wherever the card is used or specify UK only. The issuers should advise both Mastercard and Visa so that all banks in the world know which cards are exempt from charges.
Users be aware please.
