No worries on the offer - I left the industry some years back so am useless at the 'coding edge', but in terms of technical architecture and information modeling, I'm still one of the best ;-)

Advertising - hmmm, advertising suggests they pay a fee to be advertised - and that suggests an upfront spend in an industry that works on back-end deals, may be better to look into the aggregator affiliate side. I know, for instance, that hotels.com are the partner (and so provide commission to) WorldMate - perhaps there is something of that model that can be of use?

    Hope it goes well!

The problem is that the "product" isn't purchased online and therefore an affiliate system wouldn't work. Something similar to my idea already exists and these sites are just directories where the suppliers advertise. The idea takes it one step further.

I suppose that I could set up my own affiliate system (using open source solutions) and then get the suppliers of the "product" to sign up on a lead basis.

Selling leads sounds good - especially if you can offer a couple of packages (£1 for generic lead, £20 for pre-qualified/ready-to-buy lead - or whatever is appropriate for your market!). Someone, somewhere needs to do some actual *selling* though.
  • Why would you want to? it's been done to death and very competative.
