Non-UK Citizen/Resident bank account

One of my staff lives in Russia (and is Russian) however wishes to have their salary paid into a UK bank account.
I have had a look but can't find any. I checked old threads but they now go to dead links and are closed.
Does anyone know any way I can pay their salary into a UK £ sterling account/how they can open one/where they can get one?

If you cant find an onshore UK bank (and they do exist; check out the smaller names) all the offshore branches of the usual UK banks will be happy to open accounts for your employee. UK salary payments can be made to them via direct credit in the normal way.0

Hi Dys,
Most banks would want to see proof of add and living in the UK. It's a bit tough when your staff is living abroad.
Check and see if the banks in Russia can set up a foreign currency account. In this case a sterling account. So that u can pay ££ into it.0 -
IMO it will not be possible - international sterling accounts based offshore in places such as Jersey or Isle of Man is the only way to go.0

Would a Lloyds International, HSBC International, Barclays International Nationwide International have anything to offer?0

Ask them to visit a Citibank in Russia and open whatever they want in Jersey or London Citibank International personal bank IPB. The account is free if they meet a certain criteria.0 -

LOL no I do not do tax avoidance. I simply do have a Russian working part time on an admin task.
I solved the problem by linking a Paypal account to my company account and paying them into their Paypal account each month.
Pretty happy with that.0 -

on the limited info available it does sound as if you are aiding and abetting your staff member to avoid paying tax in the country where they live and work. It may be the prime responsibility of the individual to declare earnings paid gross to the Russian tax authorities, but you have a repsonsibility as an international employer too; maybe you should gen up on the Russian tax laws. Equally if it's really small beer then nobody cares too much. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
