Tabbed browsing not showing tabs

Hi all
I'm currently using IE7 (I know, but I'm at work) and tabbed browsing is enabled under Tools/Internet Options/Settings (under the tabs section) but tabs aren't showing on the screen.
Anyone any ideas on how to get the tabs to show?
::edit::
Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm running Windows XP.

If you are at work and can't upgrade what about checking with your IT people that they have not tweaked a setting that they should not have.0

Thanks guys, can't even run the portable versions for some reason (probably policy control or something similar).
Everyone else seems to have tabs available so I'll have a chat to our local IT bod.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
