I received the following email today. I am a very happy customer of travelcoverdirect and have no hesitation in recommending them. Their prices are very competitive and their customer service is excellent.
The word 'old' is no longer in our vocabulary
- our new 'silver surfer' trip policies cover 65-75 years young.
Which? Best Buy for annual policies - up to age 69 at standard rates.
**** edited to remove specific individual email voucher ****

Thank you for editing my post
NOT!
It's such a pity that you don't seem to understand the written word!
Will you be removing this post too?

Margaret,
The email link has been removed because it was a "specific individual email voucher", ie. only meant for your use. Please see Martin's Voucher RulesTorgwen..........

Ooops! I'm really tired trying to explain this!
It was NOT a personal email that I posted. Any personal references were edited out. *I* understand the meaning of personal. e.g. 'Dear Margaret' etc.---that's personal, but ' pass this on ' certainly isn't. I passed on information which folks might have found useful.
I have forwarded the edited post to colleagues [the one I posted here]and each one has agreed that there was nothing the least bit personal in it.
There was no offer specifically for me, and certainly no vouchers or codes!
However, it won't happen again, rest assured! I am too afraid to post on this site anymore.0 -
The offer of a discount was specifically for you, friends and family though, not potentially some 38,000 members of MSE and all the readers of MSE who are not signed up.
You may have removed your personal details but did not remove the email address of the gentleman to whom your friends and family were to apply for the stated discount.0 -
Sorry you didn't take kindly to my quick quip above, margaret. It's just that you seemed overly angry that your post had been edited. I was just trying to get you to lighten up.
There was no need for the stream of abuse you sent me by pm, (do you have a particular attachment to the angry face smilie?) I asked if I could copy your pm to show on site but I understand why I can't. I wasn't so much concerned about reporting you as warning others. I wanted to warn others that they may be setting themselves up for private abuse if you didn't like what they wrote.
Btw, I have no intention of becoming 'an EX' newbie as you pointed out you wish for.
Learn to live with it dear!0 -
Quick note to say that we take a VERY dim view to people PMing other members with abusive notes. If anyone has a grievance with another member it needs to be brought to our attention. As it seems to have caused offence though, i have removed the comment on this thread too.
Finally, any personal vouchers will be removed in accordance with our site rules as Fran rightly says. Again, if anyone feels that you have a legit code that has been removed for no reason, please contact abuse and we will investigate.0
