Capital One credit card colour and design

I have had a Capital One Classic card for 2 years now with a credit limit of £1500 (started of at £1000 then raised to £1500 after 6 months, not had any limit increases in a year and a half since, no late or missed payments for those 24 months).

My card reached is expiration date and I was sent a new card.

My question is:-

Does it matter what colour the card is? I say this because if you look at the Capital One website it shows all their different cards each with a different design or colour.
My Classic card had a light purple swish exactly like the classic card shows on the website.
When I recieved the new card it now has a blue swish exactly like the new Capital One balance card.

Seeing as you cannot select what colour card you recieve when you apply for Capital One card, I can only assume that the card design or colour is specific to that account type card.

How can I tell what type of card they have given me this time?

PS I applyed for a Progress card in November, before there was an option for existing members to apply. I was refered and then got a declined letter, thought this might help as a bit of background.

Thanks

The balance and classic cards are VISA. Most of their other cards that I am aware of, such as the progress are MasterCard.

best thing to do is simply phone and ask.

FYI, my Cap1 Classic is a mastercard, not a visa and always has been.

How odd. The classic on their website is clearly a VISA - as nearly all sub prime cards are. (The only subprime card I know of currently being a MasterCard is Aqua).

When did you last receive a new card? They may have changed a few years ago to VISA and you will receive one of those when you get a new card perhaps.
