Gas Convertion - Hyundai

I'm thinking about converting my petrol guzzling "Daddy wagon" into gas. I've heard that that the goverment are giving Grants towards this, however i haven't been able to find any info on this. If anyone could help it would be greatly apreciated.

What is the general concensus on Gas convertions?

  • Have you considered that the price of LPG may be going up in the next few years. The tax benefits currently on the fuel are not set in stone and the transport select committee has received testimony that the benefit should be removed.
  • They stopped giving the grants out about 18 months ago, even then they only applied to newish cars. Gas is good as long as the price stays down and you have a supply near by.
  • Also, there are many cowboys out there doing botched conversions, so be careful.

If the car was cleaned out, there would be a saving on fuel with not having to carry all that rubbish around.

unfortunatly because the powershift grants have stopped its rarther expensive to fit lpg systems to vehicles, you may have to do a lot of miles to recoup the cost of the kit which can run to thousand plus pounds. make sure if you do get one you go to a fully qualified installer, better stll buy a factory fitted duel fuel vehicle
