First Direct £100 incentive - If I don't 'earn' £1500 pm?

Options
Evening,

My husband has switched banks to First Direct & as such has received 3 referral offers of £100 for the new customer plus £50 for him. I have been considering moving to FD from Barclays (for the incentive mostly as I have to say Barclays have always been very good to me) however, as a stay-at-home mum I don't earn a salary. I am aware that you only have to pay £1500 in to the account within 30 days to receive the incentive & as my husbands salary is all transferred to mine (all DD's go from my account) plus Child benefit & Child Tax Credit, I would meet that requirement. But do I have to actually have a job/earn a salary to open this account? If I fill in the form saying that I have no salary will they just turn me down anyway?

Sorry if it's a bit incoherent I'm tired & waffling!

All advice much appreciated :D

I'm sure when I applied I'm sure there was an option for "Homemaker" or something similar.
The £1500 can also come from any other account, so your husband could send you it and you could send it back a minute later.

When you send the post card off they simply send you an application form with your name and address pre printed so it may be worth doing that to have a look through all the forms etc.

Also make your you open an esaver with them and put £1 in to avoid the £10 monthly fee in case you don't pay in £1500.

Thanks. Yes, sorry, I should have mentioned that I knew about putting £1 in the esaver! I just didn't want to get into any kind of situation where I was misleading them by making them think I had a salary. Hopefully they still have a 'homemaker' option then, most places seem to nowadays. I will definitely send off the postcard then so I can at least have a look at the forms.

Just be aware that they'll send you a form every month for a couple of months if you don't get round to sending it back.

But I've found them excellent since joining them last March.
You could also call them 0800 24 24 24 if you have any more questions, if they're like customer services they'll be pleased to help.
