My computer is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!
I think I have a problem a device driver, but have know idea which one or how to fix it. The computer fairly frequently restarts despite having auto restart un checked. When it restarts I get presented with the blue screen of death and informed that I may have a dodgy device driver and that the stop screen was to protect windows? I have had this problem any advice in simple terms what to do please.

I am using xp home. I did try to do a system restore but it won,t do it. How would I use the device manager to go to earlier drivers and which ones. I know that is probibly a stupid question but I am fairly clueless.0

To update or change a device driver
1.Open Device Manager
2.Double-click the type of device you want to update or change.
3.Right-click the specific device driver you want to update or change, and then click Rollback Driver to roll back to an earlier driver
Note
• To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
• You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.Ex forum ambassador

I would try the graphics first, reboot and see if it cures it, then the sound card ones....Ex forum ambassador

If possible make a note of the first few lines next time you get a blue screen of death, and post them here. It can contain useful info that points to the source of the problem.
For example, the following is a common example seen under XP, with troubleshooting steps from MS: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314063&sd=RMVP0 -
Its also usually one of the last drivers you installedAlways looking for a bargain and to help0
