Frozen Credit Card

in Credit cards
my barclaycard has been frozen because of the transfer of my egg account.
the egg account was part of an IVA started in 2007. i cleared the IVA in 2009.
the barclaycard was not part of the IVA as it was not in use. I had a limit of £500 in 2007 and it has risen steadily to £8000. Since the egg account was transferred barclaycard have frozen my account because of the IVA.
i have complained several times to barclaycard. they tell me they are a "responsible company" etc. So my question is, why have they frozen my account now when they should have checked my records before making several increases in my credit over the past 5 yrs.
i was thinking of taking this to the financial ombudsman as barclaycard are refusing to tell me why they have increased my credit over the years without checking. do i have a case?

They are using the right to offset in this case as you now owe them a balance through debt being purchase by them they have decided to withdraw credit facilitys.
The only way around it is probably by paying down the debt.0 -
The op said it cleared the IVA in 2009, nothing todo with an outstanding debt. However his profile would show him as high risk, lenders dont have to also check the files before increasesDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
