Pregnancy & redundancy

I have worked for my company for 15 years and possibly have the option to take VR which I would like to do. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and have not yet told work. If I were to take VR I would be leaving sometime in the summer i.e. before commencing Mat Leave.
My question is would they still have to pay mat pay?
Thanks.

Depends when your last day of service is....
Pregnant women (not yet on maternity leave) who are made redundant still qualify for statutory maternity pay if they:
(1) work for the same employer for at least 26 weeks leading up to the 15th week before their baby is due (the 'qualifying week')
(2) they remain employed during all or part of the qualifying week; and (3) earn at least £97 on average in the eight weeks before the end of the qualifying week.
If not then you would claim maternity allowance.0
