Bought a tin on a whim and now don't have a clue what to do with them...never eaten them before. The tin says to mash with butter and have on toast but I don't want to do anything too 'strong' (my impression is that they have a very strong flavour?) to put us off them.
Any simple recipes/idea please? Or should I just be brave and bung them on toast?

They are great on pizza or you can add them to sauces to give a fishy/salty hint or there is a recipe on the BBC food for pork in Stout where you wrap an anchovy round a prune & stuff it into slits cut into the meat - now that is delish!I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

we put them on pizza... however my husband is now sitting there going "mash on butter with toast MMMMMM"...
they will be very strong and salty that way, try the pizza first, you do get used to them after a while lol0 -
you can use them in lots of recipes as they add a salty taste rather than a fishy one if you just use a few and chop them up. I like them in a spicy pasta sauceweaving through the chaos...0
