So theres no way to get any extra holidays this year :(

    Is this a serious question?!

This year there is an extra bank holiday day, on Tuesday 5th June. So Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th are bank holidays. If you work full time, and book off 6th-8th (i.e. 3 days) you get a full week off but only use 3 days' holiday. The same as for the royal wedding extra day.

I'm definitely booking it off ;)

No, but I suggest everyone takes a look at the layout of Christmas week and gets in there quick!

Only if your leave entitlement is XX days PLUS public holidays. If your leave is 28 days including public holidays - no extra days!

When they say "XX including" dont they mean that the number theyve given you (28) has included all public holidays?

Rather than saying XX PLUS Bank Holidays or whatever?

What im saying is, theyre both the same right?

Cos if you work it you get daus in leiu?

No - they aren't both the same. 20 days plus public holidays this year means 29 days. 28 days including public holidays still means 28 days.

Not both the same, some contracts state 28 days inc bank holidays others state 20 days plus the bank holidays, the latter allows for the extra day although it can be argued that the extra day is not a bank holiday but a public holiday.

Although i have my contrct and other information already which is what i meant when i said employee handbook cos its more of a summary of the employee handbook or maybe it is the handbook cos it has all legal stuff etc.
