Spam sent from my e-mail

I opened an email from "a friend", it turned out to be spam so I deleted it. This same email has now been sent to all my contacts. As I use this for work its been very furstrating! How do i stop it? I thought I would just delete all my contacts but I click on "contacts" and only had a couple there. It looks like the email has been sent to the list of "recently e-mailed" people. This list shows when I go to "new mail" and then click "TO:". How do I delete this list and is there anything else I can do to stop it happening? It would be very inconvenient to have to change my e-mail but I don't want everyone at work avoiding my e-mails! I have changed my password but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ive seen this before. It has also happened to me once. I dont know how it does it at all but i do know this.

It usually happens the once. If it happens again it will occur probably in a few months.

So dont worry about it. It shouldnt happen again for a long long time.

Its been 2 years so far and not happened to my account.

happened to me about a month ago, 'wow', 'amazing' pictures from my sister, so I thought safe, ok.

Change your mail password, as first step.

Thanks, have changed my password. I have two emails, one i use for everything and the other for work. Just annoying its the work one!
