I am setting up a wireless connection for my brother just now. I have never used wireless before, so it's all new to me.
I have installed it as it is in the computer system, but I don't know to how to actually connect it ?! I am maybe missing something really simple and I have followed the instructions that came with the USB to the letter, but it's not happening.
Anyone help me with the last stage please ??
Thanks in advance

Right-click Wireless network connection (either in system tray next to clock or Control Panel - Network connections) and click View Available Wireless Networks. Select your wireless network and click Connect. If wireless security is enabled, enter your Network Key at the prompt.
If wireless security isn't enabled, set up WPA-PSK encryption on the router asap!0 -
It's saying that windows can't configure the connection ?? I didn't set it up through windows, but the CD that came with it PEAK II Wireless LAN
The programme is there as I checked it through launch config utitilies
After that I am lost****************************0 -
Right-click the Wireless Connection icon then click Properties. Is there a Wireless Networks tab? If not, use the software that came with the USB adapter to connect wirelessly - the CD should have drivers and software.0

WhenI right click the icon
I only have
Changes windows firewall
Open Network connections
Repair
View available networks
I have no properties tab !I got to this stage by using the CD, following everything they say
It appears on my device manager etc, but at no time have I had to enter any settings, passwords etc - I was never asked for them !!****************************0 -
View Available Networks, then Connect if not already connected.0

Chippy, thanks for your help as ever, but that was not an option when I clicked anything !!
I am no longer at the house with the computer, but am going to phone the shop where I got the computer (and USB key) and get them to talk me through it on the phone - there is something not right as I can normally figure it out in the end****************************0 -
Try Repair.
Try running Wireless Network wizard in Control Panel.
Try downloading latest drivers - http://www.peakhardware.com/products/productdetail.asp?Id=149&A=3&B=13&C=42# - I think that's yours.0 -
:T :T :T :T :T Thanks for that - will try it in the next couple of days. In the meantime the comp is connected into the wall connection - I managed to do that****************************0
