Fantastic Video - thanks but....Can anybody give me advice?...I have banked with Barclays for many years and have been charged approx £4500 in bank charges. I recently moved to Northern Ireland where Barclays do not have a branch, can I claim through the English Courts or do I go through Northern Ireland where I can only claim up to £2000.

Hi You will get better advice if you make a new thread to ask your question in the reclaim bank charges forum on this site.

    Cheers

  • Went to a family party tonight (boring) until I bought up the the topic of the evening? Martin's programme last night which I wa proud to say was fantastic. Result at leat 5 people looking to claim back bank charges and at leat 10 looking at Quidco. Martin you are a genius to the normal working person XX Where did you learn your trade?
    Happy weekend
We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T
  • Martin the video is an excellent idea, spoken words are often easier to understand than written ones.

However the video fails to mention certain important points.

    1. The DPA SAR £10 can be reclaimed.
2.Its not a negotiation its simply asking for what is rightfully yours.
    3. The MCOL 14 days for acknowledged is not correct as you have to wait 5 days for the claim to be deemed served.
Responding to a claim: defendant's options
The defendant has 14 days from the date of service of the claim to respond. The date of service is calculated to be 5 days from the date the claim is issued.
    MCOL website

    4. If the bank fails to acknowledge or defend you fail to mention that they may apply for a set aside which a judge will almost certainly grant.
    5. Most importantly MCOL is not the ideal option when pursuing a claim as you have limited charectors and lines for your POC.
