What type of accounts can I claim PPI from

Hi Guys

I am currently looking to see if I am entitled to a PPI claim, I have done a credit report using Noddle.co.uk and have gotten the following info off of the report re the accounts I have held over the last 10 or so years

Lender.............Account Type..........Start Date..........End Date

Santander UK plc......Mortgage..........16/01/1999.......... 29/12/2009
Santander UK plc......Mortgage..........24/07/2004.......... 19/12/2006
Santander UK plc......Mortgage..........20/12/2006.......... 21/03/2007
Santander UK plc......Mortgage..........22/02/2007.......... 03/02/2011
We only had 1 mortgage with Santander, I think the separate accounts were created when we increased/altered the monthly payments.

Lender......................Account Type.........Start Date.........End Date
Volkswagen Financial Ser..Hire Purchase......16/11/2002.........15/03/2007
Egg Credit Card.............Credit Card..........15/06/2004........15/06/2009
Halifax Preference Card...Credit Card..........28/07/2005.......29/01/2011
Bank of Scotland.............Unsecured Loan...19/01/2006.......31/01/2007
MBNA Europe Bank.........CreditCard...........23/07/2007.......23/07/2007

HBSC Mortgage................Mortgage........20/12/2010.........Still running

My questions are

1) I am unsure if we had PPI insurance with all of these accounts, can I still put in a claim for them to check ?
2) On Noddle.co.uk, the full account number/s are not shown and I now have no or very little info on some of the accounts, what is the bare minimum info that I can send to these lenders?
3) Are the financial organizations obliged to give me the details of these accounts, is it best calling or writing to them ?
4) When sending the PPI consumer questionnaire form, should this be sent recorded (signed for) ?

Thanks for taken the time to read this and help

    Just another question

Re my Bank of Scotland 'unsecured loan' - does this mean that it defiantly wouldn't have had PPI protection with it ??

What would be your reasons for complaint?

Name, addresses (past and current), date of birth and rough timescales and amounts.

If you do a data subject access request they are required to supply what data they still hold on a relevant filing system. Not any data that has been destroyed or put in a non relevant filing system.

    up to you.

The reason we think we have a case is that it was never explained to us that PPI was an optional extra, we were lead to believe it was compulsory

    I have all this info

Yes, an unsecured loan means the loan wasn't secured against an asset, such as a house or car, which could be repossessed if you fall behind on your payments. It does not indicate whether or not PPI was taken out for the loan.

How can you think that the PPI was never explained to you/was compulsory when in your original post you claim to be unsure if you even have PPI on the accounts in the first place?
