UK employment: Firms 'report optimism over jobs'

  • I bet the CBI are behind this optimistic Market-Affirming Argument.
The Market they are so in love with must not be seen to fail the very people it is claimed to support. Supply side economics would not like it and we must blame the supply side only.
I don't trust it and Mainstream Media are being fed propaganda.
That doesn't mean to say that it can't do it every now and then but unemployment is so bad that..

Im alright, i secured 8 months work a couple of weeks ago.

It's interesting how a carpenter working on bulding sites has all day access as though he were an IT worker, sat on a PC all day.

    Very interesting.

The concept of price work may be beyond you.

Go and tell the scaffolders to hurry up because they are slowing me down, get it, done what i can and now im waiting on other trades to catch up.

    Stick to the DIY.

Yeah, you're sat on site waiting for the scaffolders to finish work and you have a laptop and site WIFI. I think it's now a building code of practice to have internet access on all sites for 'paused workers'.

Who said im sat on site.

Im on price work, the scaffolders are holding me up.

I tell them to hurry up and then i go home.

You dont get paid for waiting around on site when you are on price work, (well you used to get a bit of daywork but that doesnt happen much anymore)

Do you want me to explain the concept of job and knock for you for when you are on daywork or cards in while im at it.

Scaffolders do not turn up on site and ask me to build them some planks, they usually bring their own.

Anyway, today, Chris Grayling about unemployment numbers: "Signs of stabilization in these figures".
This is the turning point, guys and girls.
It's leveling off now. Of course still high, but things can only get better. :T
