Credit Card PPI 1997

Hi

I used to have a HSBC Credit Card and a NatWest Credit Card, going back in 1997, am I able to still reclaim for PPI, even through the cards are now closed?

Regards

Yes you can - if you have a valid reason for a mis-sale.

You could however have a problem if the accounts were closed over 6 years ago and no longer have your statements as the bank may no longer have records showing the premiums paid either.

And if they do that would show that you knew you had cover but did nothing about it at the time - so they would seem within their rights to timebar you.
