Lloyds,A&L and MBNA PPI Claim?

Hi there everyone,

I have just recently applied for a number of PPI claims, as i was told PPI were illegal and that they don't cover soldiers, because of our jobs and the Operational Tours of Duty we do?

I sent the document found on here, plus an old printed bank statement of a Direct Debit for £511 a month, but that's the only evidence i had, for a loan taken out in around 2003? I think the loan was for around £26,000, but can't honestly remember. I have just received a letter saying they are investigating the matter, is that a good omen?

I have also sent documents for Alliance & Leicester, and MBNA, but had the better proof for them, does anyone think i will get anything back?

I have a feeling being a soldier with a regular income, whether injured or off ill, that between 2001-2010 we were taken to the cleaners by the banks????

I would be sincerely grateful if anybody could offer advice on all the above?

Thank you

    Hello Durry743,

PPI wasn't illegal but it was mis-sold on a grand scale. I take it you were already in the armed forces at the time it was applied to your accounts - it's the time of the sale that matters - if so they'll struggle to justify it. Sit tight and wait and see what response you get back from them all. They have 8 weeks to give you a final response but may contact you in the meantime if they need more info. Any problems come back to the forum and people will help you :)
  • Yipeee,

First one back from MBNA Credit Card, £2141, brilliant!

I'd advise everyone to go for it, only gave the card number, and it was all done in 3 weeks.

Hopefully the others will render something?

I wish everyone trying the best!

    Justin
