Barclaycard PPI

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before.

I sent off a form to Barclaycard in January. I received acknowledgement from them stating they were now looking into and would contact me again no later than the 16th March (this Friday)

Some four weeks later I received another letter stating they are sorry they haven't dealt with this issue as of yet but would deal with it by the 16th March.

I haven't heard anything as of yet. I'll obviously give them until the 16th March but what should I do then. Write to them giving them two weeks grace or contact the Financial Ombudsman? Also is this usual?

thanks

I put a claim into barclaycard on Thursday, then emailed the complaints team through my barclaycard online and they called back today, they say they haven't seen the PPI complaint yet, lots of apologies can see my PPi on the account since it was Morgan Stanley back in 2003, and after asking a bunch of questions (from the questionnaire) said they would elevate the claim to phase 2? And pass it to customer relations who would be in touch and deal with it within 40 days. Progress?

my PPI claim went to them 10 months ago and for the last 4 months it's been 're-worked' .... which has no time limit and they can take as long as they want.

they're looking for a way to decline my PPI claim ... the cust serv rep told me by mistake and i did ask him to keep a copy of the recording! I was also told they keep changing their internal procedures which are meant to help customers but sometimes are detrimental ....

but they refunded default charges within a week of receiving the statement copies so there's already a precedent for liability .... previously they refused to go beyond 6 years and the FOS would not look into the complaint after the bank's response.
