I have posted several threads here recently to help me try and work out if I should stay with Virgin Media (I am a cable customer) or move to Sky. Still struggling to find out options from Virgin. Basically i do a lot of real time streaming particularly at this time of year so need best possible download rate right now.

When I log in to my VM account and look up upgrade paths/options for existing customers, there is NO info as VM are "rebuilding" this part of the website. You are referred to phone sales team.

So I phoned up Virgin directly this morning and asked what cable line speeds I could achieve at my house as I was thinking about an upgrade - because I do quite a lot of real time sport streaming at this time of year -and was confused by info on their web site.

The girl mumbled, stuttered and then said they were upgrading nationally and from later this year it would be 60mb. However when pressed she could not tell me what if any upgrade path was possible for me today, which I need to know as I want to stream now. Just kept going on about rolling out the upgrades this year due round here in July.

She also said they no longer talk about line speeds but about download capacity and if I sign up now to Download 60L, from July (when double speed is scheduled to come in locally) I would be able to download 350mb. She offered me £9 month reduction on current bill (currently paying £26 month for bb) if I sign up now for new 12 month contract.

I am not really inclined to sign up now for benefits not due until July but she was not able to discuss current benefits.

Anyone know what Download 60L is and what this 350mb limit is? According to website, 350mb would represent streaming a tv show not in HD for an hour.
