Sky + Box Freezing

Hiya folks

I have a Sky + HD Box (installed Feb last year) and over the last couple of months it has started freezing whenever we watch a programme on record or if we have paused Live TV.

It's driving me mad!! Any ideas??

Thanks :)

Have you tried switching it off at the mains,, leaving it off for 2 minutes then plugging it back in. Wait 2 minutes before switching it on.

Just out of warranty it seems. PSU may be failing, try to blag a replacement out of Sky by threatening to leave. Failing that, eBay.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Thanks Silvercar will try that, Macman yes my thoughts exactly!

You could try a forced software upgrade.

Unplug, leave it for a few minutes, then whilst holding down the backup button on the box, power it up, when all the front panel lights come on and there is an on screen message let go and leave it to do its stuff.

A full system reset would be the last resort but you would lose any recordings you have.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
