Hi, I just bought a new Garmin satnav, and it would appear that I cannot get to the menu page ie to calculate a route, while the battery is being charged. Is this the way it's supposed to work or am I doing something wrong.

Though you could check if there is a workaround other than charging it using the mains

That's the way mine works, so I suspect on this enormous body of evidence that the answer is Yes!0 -
which one did you purchase. I am considering the Garmin Nuvi 2515
but as yet no reviews on Amazon. I have never owned or used a Satnav as "His nibs" can read maps whilst I drive.0 -
You can use some mobiles and tablet pc's to use as a sat nav these days and can do far more than planning a route and playing odd mp3.which one did you purchase. I am considering the Garmin Nuvi 2515

I know with my Garmin, you can charge it with the USB cable that connects to a computer's USB port. But you cannot use the device while it is plugged into the USB port.
However, you can use it while plugged in at the mains or a cigarette lighters in the car.0
