Should have bought it and got DTD :)

I've often wondered if that would work, I assumed as the barcode would be different, they would say it was just put in the wrong place, rather than an overcharge on the item. Is it classed as a DTD or would it depend who was serving on CS?:o

Do we know if its a misprice, or a reduced price as its discontinued?

    The elite are missing you!!!!
There haven't been any there since I checked after work on the day the glitch was reported, shelf was marked £1 and cleared, sel and cheese now gone!
Have you checked the express stores?

Pampers glitch working nicely in that store though;)

Let me know if you want a couple of cheese, got mine from troutland oops meant ed*nt*orp*
I only realised after my kids aren't that keen on extra mature:(

Hi, Celebrate  Good to hear from you. I miss the 'elite' too but struggled to keep up and got frustrated to see bargains and know I couldn't get them or input any 'finds'. I still lurk occasionally - it was good to see HC reinstated:)

I can only get to the one in town. Thanks for the cheese offer. I was only going to get one to try first - some people have reported it has abit of an after-taste?
I might see if the Pampers is still on though, next time I am in. Thanks for letting me know. Take care.

I'm gonna try and check Hud' field store still have some £1 packs in stock.

:undecided Hmm...! I've just finished reading all the posts and makes me think that
...Could all this cheese be a huge overstock from their promo a month ago (as a couple posts have said)?

 Is it possible that the manufacturers accidentally branded the wrong strong cheese too - should it have been the 'mild cheddar' and not packed as the extra strong?

 Is it possible that their last big promo brought in a few comments from regular users of the extra mature strength, claiming it had a different after taste/not as strong as normal/etc?

    What's people's thoughts...?

Me thinks it is an absolute bargain at £1 - if it doesnt taste brilliant on crackers, etc, I will be using mine up in cooking (sauces, lasagne, grated on spag bol, quiche, fratato, etc.
  • Thanks picked up 6 at my local extra last night, however the other 2 stores I checked scanned at £4.00

Just had a chunk of cheese on its own and it was delicious, firm and strong but not too strong with lovely texture!! :)

I am really puzzled as to why it is full price in some stores and sold at lower price in others.

Not that i have been lucky enough to get any, just curious.

It may be because it has a shorter date ie the ones I bought were dated 3 May 2012 (they've got to get rid of them quickly)......, whereas normally Cathedral City cheese as a very long use by date ... just a thought

Empty shelves in Heanor and Codnor express :( Probably due to people getting 25 blocks a time! Havent managed to find any yet. Trying Alfreton this afternoon but not holding out much hope.
  • Managed to get some and was a bit worried I wouldn't like it. Never tried it before but couldn't resist the bargain price! Tried some last night and it is delicous!
