sorry i had trouble translating it, i had to ask my OH who does text speak to translate it so i understood it. no offence i just couldnt undertand what you meant untill it was put plainly to me.

www.eurocarparts.co.uk enter you reg go exhaust and have a look at how much the cat canverter overall costs and how much warranty you get with it. then ask a garage to fit it. £180 sounds steep to me to just replace it unless thats the cost plus VAT for supply and fit wich is about right.

Thank you for the reply. Tried the website but search returned 0 results. Shall call the company's number tomorrow & enquire if they might have one in their stores. Could you also tell me approx. how long is the life of a catalytic converter? The one we paid £340 for 2 years ago to be replaced & fitted by Kwikfit failed the MOT. Do these have such a short life span or is anything else in our car affecting its performance? Thanks for your time & any replies appreciated.

these aftermarket cats are basically all rubbish and usually are just good enough to get an mot pass at time of fitment
personally if you definately did have a cat failure which is usually due to
    an overheat issue
a misfire due to coil failure
    contaminated fuel
    breakage due to old age

then i would rather fit a second hand known good one

£100 - £120 for a CAT, But i would be wondering why the CAT only lasted 2 years.

Is the car running properly? Is the cat actually faulty or emission issue making it seem like its the CAT?

If you buy a new one get the MOT dont and swap it back to the old one. Keep the new one for the MOT's :)
