I deal with balance dues in a independent hight street travel agent and things have changed over the last 10 -12 months whereas tour operators used to allow payment 8 weeks before the majority have changed it to 10 weeks some longer.
We as agents rather than operators send out balance reminder letters the first one at 16 weeks to say 'holiday due for payment soon' to jog memories then if they havent paid by 3rd letter time I tend to call people to find out if they still want the holiday or need to canx! If they do want to canx we have to have it in writing/email from them.
We would never text someone regarding a balance and we make sure we have 2 phone numbers and email if possible so we can get
in touch.....
