Fraud on Halifax account?

I logged into my online banking this evening to find an authorised payment on my statement to SecondLife.com. I rang Halifax straight away, after quizzing me for ages to see if it could possibly be my fault in some way, he told me I had to contact Second Life to see if it was a subscription that I was unaware of. I have looked and Second Life is a free service unless you buy extra clothes or items etc. I can't get through to Second Life on the number they gave me, so I have submitted an email query to them. But is this really my responsibility to be chasing around? I know I haven't authorised any payment to Second Life and I don't want to spend days sorting it out and risking all my money disappearing. Shouldn't they at least have cancelled my card?

Does anyone know if there is anything else I can do? :(

    Nope it's not your responsibility,

Contact Halifax and advise them it is definitely a fraudulent transaction that you haven't made. That means it's not a subscription you may have forgotten about nor is it a relative using your card etc.

Halifax will happily have you running around in circles if you let them.

Cheers. I'll ring back and try to be a bit sterner with them!

Does anyone in the house have access to your card details ? Partner, boyfriend, teenage kids ?
