itunes?

hi,
i was wondering if itunes worked the same way that real player does in that it connects to the internet whilst loading, my friend cannot seem to use itunes unless she is connected to the internet.

i loaded it onto my kids comp the other day which, isnt connected to any internet and it worked for one day but now it wont work at all, i keep getting the microsoft error message which is really annoying, i have uninstalled and reinstalled about 10 times, then i done what someone else had suggested on here, for a different person, which was to load an older version first then the new version and that hasnt fixed it....does anyone have any idea why it isnt working for me please its startig to drive me nuts lol...

Itunes does not need to be connected to the internet. It only uses the net for Music Store and Mini Music Store of course.

Sorry, but that is really hard to read without them! Merciless is right, although iTunes also connects for checking CD information on CDDB, Podcasts and any streams you ask it to connect to. It could well be a Windows problem (other than Windows being a problem in itself of course). You've reinstalled iTunes so you might want to run a virus/trojan/malware check and make sure your versions of Windows, iTunes, Quicktime and you audio drivers are up to date. There's not much more we can suggest without knowing what the error that comes up is.

thanks thats what i thought but was seriously hoping to avoid doing lol...sorry seaweasel i do normally use them, i was so annoyed and frustrated as i had spent all day sodding about with it again...arrggghhh lol...

looks like i have to completely format it again...
