Fos wait

Does anybody have any idea how long it takes to be assigned an adjudicator at the FOS, our Central Trust case has been waiting for one for nine months now. The last letter we received from the FOS was six months ago. Does anybody have any idea of timescales, roughly, I know they are busy.

Hiya
I understood that they should write with updates every 2 to 3 months, so as it's been 6 months and nothing heard since, I would give them a ring, chase this up to see what stage they are currently at.
Hopefully it's is already with an adjudicator by now.
Hope they give you some good news.
Fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I can never understand why some claims take longer than others.
Good luck0 -
OUOTE=farcove54;51764845]I sent my complaint against Cap One to the FOS last July. I was assigned an adjudicator in January who called me to introduce herself. She kept in regular contact and was very helpful. She phoned me 3 weeks ago to say they were upholding my claim, and again last week to say Cap One had agreed to settle - now I'm just waiting for them. I was really impressed by the service and the level of contact.

Well done on winning your claim, i agree with you why does some people get signed an adjudicator quicker than others. I can't understand also why some people also get a lot of contact and other's don't. At least it gives me some hope I must be getting nearer the top

I have an insurance claim ongoing for nearly 4 years now and 1.5 years at the FOS. They upheld in my favour twice but the insurer wanted a full review, hence the wait. It's been there for 13 months and i'm meant to be in 'fast track' ..... not exactly fast .....0 -

Gosh that is not fast track, do you think that maybe some of us get a little lost in there system.
As with Farcove case it was taken to the FOS after mine but an adjudicator was assigned to the case in January, where as my case is still waiting to be passed to one.
I hope you don't mind me asking you how long did it take for an adjudicator to look at your PPI case.0 -

I'm not lost ... i call every few months only to be told it's 'nearly there'. Because the decision was in my favour I just need the final decision to reflect this. The interim Ombudsman agrees there's a high chance it won't be changed.
As for my PPI cases, they took 2.5 years with the Adjudicator stage and didn't need to go to a final decision as the bank offered a refund. But it took the bank and FOS that long to agree anything. The bank denied liability as they bought the card and the FOS had to go to the original lender who said all liabilities were sold. In the end they split it ... the original lender paid for before it was sold and the new creditor for when they had it.0 -
Good news we had a phonecall from the FOS on thursday my case is now being signed over to an adjudicator. Fingers crossed the wait wont be to long.0
