Have used them several times at holiday rental properties.
two observations, some are quite small and tight on space depending on key type and if in an exposed place can get "corroded"/stiff to operate even with a rubber protective cover.

Why not just fit a combination lock?

my nan has one has she is severly disabled after a stroke - so family/carers use it to get access. seems like a good idea, i would say fix it somewhere on the wall not in an obvious place - because i think if its in plain view, theifs would break into it

Maybe that would depend on the one you buy. I can't imagine anyone breaking into the one we've got - it's really solid.

We moved into a house with a key safe on it (it belonged to an old lady who had carers coming in and they accessed the key safe to get in). We didn't know the code to get into the safe and couldn't knock it off the wall, drill into it, angle grind it, or otherwise remove the thing for love nor money. As a stroke of luck I rang a handyman out of the yellow pages who happened to be her nephew and got the code from family and kindly removed it for us.

Your keys will be perfectly safe in a key safe:rotfl:

Because that will definitely break the terms of any commonly available house insurance policy.

Was a sheltered housing warden and some tenants had them for carers. Also in case of emergency we had one for the whole scheme with a master key! Never had a problem and am thinking of getting one for me.
